pixel resolution for various photo sizes

I tend to work on between 200 and 300 pixels per inch for printing. So, if I'm printing on 6x4, then I'll need at least 1200x800 to get reasonable resolution.
I've printed as low as 150 pixels per inch. I can clearly see pixelation, but when the print is on the wall, it looks fine.
